"Presidential Classroom" participants visit Embassy

On February 28 participants of the "Presidential classroom” program visited the Embassy of Latvia. High school students from various countries were briefed by Charge d’Affaires Maris Selga on the Embassy’s activities, as well on current events in international relations. In addition, Uldis Salenieks, Director of the Latvian Investment and Development Agency’s Washington office, informed the students about Latvia’s priorities in the development of science and technology, in particular addressing the question of how Latvia is using government programs to attract young specialists to the field of science.

"Presidential Classroom" is a non-governmental organization that arranges a variety of educational programs aimed at high school students. Each year in Washington the "Presidential Classroom" organizes a seminar for young international leaders. During this seminar, students from many countries around the world have an opportunity to meet not just with American government representatives, but also are given the chance to visit embassies in Washington in order to learn more about the field of diplomacy.
