On April 6, 2007 Mr. Maris Selga, Chargé d'Affaires a.i., and Captain (N) Ingus Vizulis, Defense, Military, Naval and Air Attaché attended graduation exercises at the U.S. Coast Guard International Maritime Officers School in Yorktown, Virginia. First Lieutenant Janis Viksne of the Latvian Naval Forces was among the graduates of international students Class 2/2007. Maris Selga expressed his gratitude for the educational opportunities offered to Latvian military and DOD civilians in the U.S. Such educational opportunities at U.S. military establishments serve to strengthen defence cooperation between Latvia and the U.S., as well as to strengthen Latvia's Armed Forces.
