In keeping up the tradition of maintaining contacts with Latvians in the United States, on December 1 National Hockey League (NHL) player Karlis Skrastins of the Florida Panthers visited the Embassy of Latvia and met with Ambassador Andrejs Pildegovics. Karlis Skrastins was in Washington for a December 2nd game against the Washington Capitals. The Ambassador showed the hockey player the Embassy as well as discussed current events and sports cooperation between Latvia and the United States.
