The annual international "New York Times Travel Show" took place in New York from February 6-8, 2009. Latvia was represented by the Embassy of Latvia, in cooperation with the international airport "Riga",the airline "AirBaltic" and the State Tourism Development Agency of Latvia (TAVA). This was the third year Latvia was represented at the joint Baltic booth called "Welcome to the Baltics: Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania." The New York Latvian folk dance ensemble "Jumis" also performed during the trade show. The annual New York Times Travel Show, which took place at the Jacob Javits Convention Center, is the largest tourism show in the US and was attended by over 30,000 tourism industry professionals.
