From February 29 through March 2, 2008 the Embassy of Latvia in cooperation with the State Tourism Development Agency of Latvia (TAVA) participated in the international tourism trade show in New York. Latvia was represented at the Baltic booth called „Welcome to the Baltics: Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania .” The New York Latvian folk dance ensemble „Jumis” also performed at this event. The annual New York Times Travel Show, which took place at the Jacob Javits Convention Center, is the largest tourism show in the US and is visited by over 26,000 tourism industry professionals.
