On August 31 a unique photo session known as „One day in Latvia – 20 years later” took place. During a span of 24 hours photos were taken throughout Latvia, as well as abroad, documenting people, institutions, nature, etc. A similar photo session took place 20 years ago, when Latvia’s best photographers documented life in Latvia as it was on August 31, 1987. Photos from 2007, as well as those of 1987, are expected to be published in an album. The Embassy of Latvia in Washington participated by submitting this photo. Here the staff of the embassy has come together on August 31 to clean the yard of the Embassy's new property, located at 2304 Massachusetts Ave., NW, next to the current Chancery on Sheridan Circle.
